PreChoreographic Body
Technical Efficiency & Physiological Intelligence for Dancers
Pre-Choreographic Body is a technical class dedicated entirely to the body itself: its structure, mechanics, and potential for efficient movement. The practice focuses on alignment, weight distribution, joint organization, breath, and muscular coordination as the foundation for sustainable dancing.
The class works independently of stylistic trends or current fashions in contemporary dance. Instead, it investigates how the body functions, how force is transferred through skeletal pathways, and how unnecessary tension can be reduced without losing clarity or power. Movement material is precise, stripped of excess, and designed to reveal cause-and-effect relationships within the body.
Through slow and articulated sequences, functional transitions, and technically exact exercises, dancers refine balance, timing, and effort economy. Attention is given to injury prevention, longevity, and adaptability—supporting bodies that can respond intelligently to any choreographic demand.
Pre-Choreographic Body is intended for dancers who want to deepen their physical understanding, dancers returning from injury and also dancers over 40 to recalibrate their technique, and develop a body that moves with clarity, efficiency, and resilience—regardless of aesthetic direction, concept, or style.
